Michael D. Spencer is a third-generation brick mason, proudly continuing a family tradition rooted in North Carolina. Starting his career as a hod carrier from 1981 to 1985, Michael honed his craft under the guidance of his father, Monroe W. Spencer, founder of Spencer & Sons Masonry (established in 1976). He completed his formal masonry apprenticeship in San Francisco, California, on April 29, 1985.

With over 30 years of licensed experience, Michael has progressed through every stage of the trade, from apprentice to foreman and eventually General Manager of Spencer & Sons Masonry. In this role, he mastered all aspects of masonry work, including project estimation, management, payroll, training, and hiring. His expertise has contributed to major masonry projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, including landmarks like Lombard Street, famously known as "The Crookedest Street in the World."

After his father's passing, Michael founded Spencer Masonry Inc. in the 1980s, driven by a commitment to quality and performance. Under his leadership, the company has left its mark on numerous high-profile projects such as the San Francisco International Airport, San Jose Convention Center, and Hunters Point Shipyard. Michael's dedication to excellence continues to uphold the Spencer family legacy, shaping the built environment of the Bay Area with care and craftsmanship.
